Frequently Asked Questions
What is the subject of your question?

How can I make sure that my reservation is confirmed?

Your reservation is confirmed once you have received a confirmation email or an agent has provided you with written confirmation. We recommend contacting our agents by email or telephone to make sure that your reservation has been properly confirmed.

Is it possible to return the vehicle to a different location from the pick-up location?
A one-way rental option allows you to return the vehicle to a different location, but only for inter-island journeys between Tahiti and Moorea. However, you must obtain prior approval from our agents before returning the vehicle.
Please refer to our general rental terms and conditions or contact our agents for further information.
Can I add a promotional code after completing my online reservation?

A “Promotional Code” section is available during the booking process when selecting your dates. If you forgot to enter your code, please contact our agents so that it can be added to your reservation.
However, the discount cannot be applied to prepaid reservations.

Do Hertz Gold, Gold Club, President’s Circle and other loyalty programmes apply in French Polynesia?

Hertz loyalty programme benefits are not automatically applied, as we operate independently. Please contact our agents for more information about our rental terms and conditions.

Can a promotional code discount be combined with another discount?

The discount associated with a promotional code can only be applied to the standard rate. We recommend contacting our agents for more information about our rental terms and conditions.

What is the airport tax?

The airport tax is a fee applied to all rentals starting from the airport. This fee does not apply when the vehicle is returned to the airport; it only applies when the vehicle is picked up there.

Please contact our agents if you have any questions.

What vehicle protection options are available?

For your comfort and safety, we offer several levels of protection to suit every budget. All reservations made through our local website include basic Collision Damage Waiver protection (CDW) with an excess. The amount of the excess depends on the category of vehicle booked.

We strongly recommend extending your coverage by adding our SCDW or SCDW+ protection, or our PREMIUM INSURANCE.

To view the different levels of protection available, please visit the “Our Services” section or contact our agents.

What payment methods are accepted?

Our agents accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit card or debit card. Prepaid cards are not accepted for the security deposit and may only be used for payment.
  • Cheques, for companies only.
  • Purchase orders.
  • Vouchers.
  • Bank transfers.
  • Cash.

For further information, please contact our agents by email or telephone.

What documents are required to reserve a vehicle?

No documents are required when making a reservation, either online or at the rental counter. However, your documents will be required when you collect the vehicle.

To save time at the counter, we recommend completing your personal information, in compliance with the GDPR, using the link included in your reservation confirmation or directly on our website under the “Manage My Booking” tab.

What is the maximum age for renting a vehicle, and is a medical certificate required?

Anyone over the age of 70 will be considered a “Senior” driver.

If you are a resident of French Polynesia, your driving licence must first be officially extended. The extension date must then be recorded each year on your original physical driving licence.

For further information, please contact our agents by email or telephone.

Where are the rental locations? How do I collect my vehicle?

Our rental locations are situated at the airport, in Papeete and on Moorea. To find their exact locations, we recommend consulting our interactive map or contacting our agents for further information.

Is a security deposit required when collecting the vehicle?

Our vehicles are rented without a security deposit. However, a credit card is still required to carry out a pre-authorisation of XPF 0. Prepaid cards, such as Visa Electron, are not accepted.

Do I need to inspect the vehicle?

Our agents carry out a vehicle inspection before your departure. However, we recommend checking that all the information recorded in the vehicle condition report is accurate. You will receive this report by email or as a paper copy when collecting the vehicle.

If you notice any difference between the vehicle condition report and the vehicle’s actual condition, please inform our agents before leaving the rental car park.
